This interest was duly affirmed and a RFT was then completed and lodged, with the Contract to design and install a 72kWp system at 1 Ord Street awarded to Empower Solar Australia early December.
The solar system design as specified was discussed and agreed as were the major components including the inverters (Sungrow SG30 CX) and panels (JINKO Toger N-Type Modules) which boast a very high efficiency rating and superior product & performance warranties. After overcoming a number of significant challenges given the location of the property, its height and proximity to major road networks and services infrastructure, not to mention it being in the Parliamentary Precinct, all approvals were eventually secured. The installation commenced in late June and was completed in four days, with the timing very opportune given Perth was about to experience its second wettest July on record.
The Recommendation to Connect (to the Network) was issued by Western Power, the solar system testing and commissioning was conducted and the system was then duly energised (switched on). The installation of this commercial solar system will be remembered for its particular and specific client requirements and the numerous and complex planning approvals processes given its location within Perth’s Parliamentary Precinct.
